BUSINESS AND HUMAN RIGHTS IN ECONOMICS AND LAW SPECIALTIES

The round table is devoted to the discussion of the role of economic and legal higher education institutions in the formation of knowledge about responsible business behavior, ensuring corporate respect for human rights and other topical issues in the field of business and human rights. Participants (these) from Ukraine, Brazil, UK, Poland, Portugal, Slovenia, USA and other countries will share their experiences on how these issues are already reflected in the curriculum of future economists and lawyers, and there is a demand for their improvement, based on the experience of educational institutions in Europe, USA and other countries, trends in legal regulation, the request from participants in various business processes, including the investors.

 

Questions for discussion:

I. Formation and development of the concept of business and human rights. Interrelationship with other related concepts

II. Current trends

  • the legal requirements for mandatory human rights due diligence (including in supply chains (at EU level; France, Norway, UK, etc.) and their impact on Ukrainian companies;
  • indicators of responsible business behavior and their consideration by investors, business partners, consumers;
    tools to ensure sustainable business models;
  • government policies in the field of business and human rights (national action plans);
    corporate practices.

III. Business and Human Rights in Training Programs for Economists and Lawyers

  • experience of Europe, USA and other countries of the world, review of training programs and teaching methods;
  • the potential of Ukrainian universities.
