Ievgeniia Kopytsia

Phd, Associate Professor at Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University (Ukraine), a research fellow at the University of Genoa, Italy, and a visiting academic at the Faculty of Law, University of Oxford. Drawing on a background in environmental, energy and climate law, her current research takes a look at how to ensure net zero transition amid the ongoing war in Ukraine.

She is a co-author of several textbooks, monographs, and study guides and author of more than 20 articles on environmental and energy law, climate change mitigation, and adaptation within Ukrainian, EU, and international law. She has taught at Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University (Ukraine), Mykolas Romeris University (Lithuania) University of Genoa (Italy), and University of Girona (Spain). Courses have included ‘Environmental Law of Ukraine’, ‘International and EU Environmental Law’, and ‘Normative Investigations into Climate Change’.

She is a deputy-in-chief of the international journal ‘Journal of Environmental Law & Policy’ and a member of the editorial board of the international journal ‘Grassroots Journal of Natural Resources’. She has conducted research at leading research institutions and universities in Germany, the UK, Italy, Poland and Finland.
