Beata Faracik

Co-founder and President of the Board of the Polish Institute for Human Rights and Business. Leading Polish expert specialized in Human Rights & Business and Corporate Social Responsibility with over 15 years of professional experience and experience of working in public, private and NGO sectors in various countries, including: Ministry of Justice (Poland), Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Poland), Criminal Justice System (UK), University of Exeter (UK), National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty Against Children (UK) and currently, the Polish Institute for Human Rights and Business.
Regularly speaks at public events on issues of relevance to business and human rights agenda. Completed consultancy assignments inter alia for the European Parliament (developed two analysis reimplementation of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and contributed to the EP DROI hearings on Business & Human Rights (2012-2014, 2017) with recommendations being included in the relevant EP resolutions on CSR), Danish Human Rights Institute, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland, Buy Responsibly Foundation, etc. Conducted workshops for business, NGOs and public administration, including on the implementation of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights into the company policies.
Co-founder and Coordinator of the CSR Watch Coalition Poland. Member of the Advisory Board of the Amnesty International Poland, the Council of 17. (a business initiative aimed at SDGs implementation in Poland) and of the inter-ministerial Committee on Sustainable Development and CSR, an advisory body to the Minister of Innovation and Economic Development (since 2018), and its predecessors, the inter-ministerial CSR Committee (2012-2015).
External expert at Forum Odpowiedzialnego Biznesu (2017) and Global Compact Network Poland. Member of the BHRight Initiative for Interdisciplinary Research and Teaching on Business and Human Rights.
She holds Master’s degree in Law and MA in International relations/European Affairs from Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, and LL.M. in Human Rights and Intellectual Property Law (WIPO WA Fellow) from Raoul Wallenberg Institute of the Lund University and WIPO Worldwide Academy. Her areas of expertise include: Human Rights & Business (BHR), Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), International Public Law, EU internal & external policies, Enabling and protecting civil society/Human Rights Defenders.  Author of publications on those topics in Polish and English.
