Tetyana Burak

Financial Consumer Protection Advisor, USAID Financial Sector Transformation Project.

Tetyana Burak joined USAID Financial Sector Transformation Project as a Financial Consumer Protection Advisor in March 2017. She is in charge of projects and initiatives on financial consumer protection and financial awareness.

From 2015 to 2017, Ms. Burak worked in the Strategy and Reforms team of the National Bank of Ukraine. She coordinated the implementation of Ukraine’s 2020 Comprehensive Strategy for Financial Sector Development, Financial Sector Task Force, International Donors’ Technical Assistance and transformation projects in cooperation with EBRD.

Ms. Burak has a 9-year practical experience in banking and finance, namely 5-years in consumer finance. Her career includes change management and project management experience in such reputable organizations as UkrSibbank (BNP Paribas Group), PRAVEX-BANK (Intesa Sanpaolo Group) and Anheuser-Busch InBev.

Ms. Burak is the primary author of the Draft Law on Financial Ombudsman Institution and ideologist and organizer of the first ever in Ukraine International Consumer Protection Conference 2017. She conducted various researches and studies in the financial market (consumer lending, insurance etc.), delivered numerous media campaigns, TV and radio interviews, presentations and publications on financial sector reform and educational issues for Ukrainians.

Ms. Burak has Master’s degree in Economics and Law at Kharkiv University of Humanities “People’s Ukrainian Academy” (2010).
