«The Right to Be Forgotten and Other Emerging Rights in the Practice of European Judicial Institutions»

This two-day workshop is designed for lawyers, judges, advocates, and human rights practitioners working on issues related to digital human rights. The sessions will engage with:
- The right to be forgotten and its evolving legal framework;
- The right to privacy and the right to the protection of personal data;
- The right not to be subject to automated decision-making and protection from automated data processing;
- Human rights protection and self-regulation amid the deployment of AI;
- Interpretation and application of these rights in the practice of the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) and the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR).
The workshop aims to raise awareness of emerging digital rights; provide a guidance for addressing legal challenges in this field; discuss and refine a draft set of recommendations for stakeholders; develop practical approaches to applying European standards in the national context.
The event is organized by the Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University within the framework of the IX Kharkiv International Legal Forum; this event is also part of the project The Jean Monnet Center of Excellence European Fundamental Values in Digital Era, 101085385 – EFVDE – ERASMUS-JMO-2022-HEI-TCH-RSCH.
