Oleg Gushchyn
Dr. Oleg Gushchyn is a Ukrainian lawyer with experience within Armed Forces, academia and international relations.
He has authored numerous reports and publications, in particular in the areas of international security, defense transformation, operational law and protection of civilians.
As teaching staff member Dr. Gushchyn took part in Erasmus+ and ELSA Summer Law School on the Law of Armed Conflicts and International Security.
He’s also repeatedly participated in International Security events, such as Sanremo Round Table on current issues of IHL, EuroISME’s conference on Urban Warfare, Warsaw Cyber Summits, Information-Disinformation-Cybersecurity conference. Within the “Transitional Justice” project, runs by CivilM+ International Platform, Dr. Gushchyn published a “Protection of Civilians as a new humanitarian concept: challenges and complex approach for Ukraine” report.
Now Dr. Oleg Gushchyn, in addition to academia activities, is a legal adviser of The Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of the Prisoners of War team, a governmental institution which coordinates Ukraine’s state bodies activities in the field of GC III and GC IV compliance.
