Liudmyla Denisova

Ombudsman of Ukraine.
Ms. Liudmyla Denisova was born on July 06, 1960 in Arkhangelsk city.
In 1989, she graduated from the St. Petersburg State University with a degree in Law; lately she studied economics (accounting and audit) at the Tauride Institute of Entrepreneurship and Law.
From 1998 to 2001 she was appointed Minister of Economy of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Minister of Finance of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. Since 2001 she has headed the Department of the State Treasury in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. In particular, she was a deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
She continued her career in the legislative branch. She was elected Member of Parliament (Verkhovna Rada) of Ukraine of V, VI, VII, VIII convocations, as well as the Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Social Policy and Labor of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. She held the post of Minister of Labor and Social Policy of Ukraine twice in 2007 and 2014.
Since 2014, she has held the position of Chairman of the Committee on Social Policy, Employment and Pension of the Verkhovna Rada.
On March 15, 2018, Liudmyla Denisova was appointed Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman).
She has a Candidate of Legal Science in sphere of Labor Relations and Social Security.
Ms. Denisova was awarded with the State Award of Ukraine – the Order of Merit of the 3rd degree.
