Anna Stakhanova

Anna Stakhanova is a legal expert specializing in international crimes, prosecution reform, and accountability. Currently serving as the Key Expert on Accountability for International Crimes with the EU Project Pravo-Justice in Ukraine, she plays a crucial role in advising and training key stakeholders within the Ukrainian justice system, including judges, prosecutors, and defense counsel. Prior to this, Anna served as an International Consultant on Accountability for War Crimes with the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) in Poland, where she provided expert guidance on aligning Ukrainian legislation with international law and on the processes of investigation, prosecution, and adjudication of war crimes.

Anna’s extensive experience includes managing high-impact projects at the European Union Advisory Mission (EUAM) Ukraine, where she coordinated initiatives to bolster the capacity of Ukrainian law enforcement agencies in ensuring accountability for international crimes and advancing rule of law and justice reforms. Her earlier work with the European Union Border Assistance Mission (EUBAM) to Moldova and Ukraine was instrumental in advancing reconciliation efforts in the Republic of Moldova and implementing effective cross-border management models.

Anna holds an LLM from the London School of Economics and Political Science, specializing in International Law, along with additional master’s degrees in law and linguistics from National University “Odesa Law Academy” and Odesa I.I. Mechnikov National University.
