Alex Cornell Du Houx

Alex Cornell du Houx is the Director of the Public Leadership Certificate Program and adjunct professor at the University of San Francisco, where he mentors emerging leaders in governance and public service. He is also the President and co-founder of Elected Officials to Protect America, a network of policymakers advancing climate security and environmental justice.

A former Maine State Representative and U.S. Marine combat veteran, Alex has built a career at the intersection of public policy, security, and sustainability. He founded Operation Free, a veteran-led initiative that won national recognition for strengthening U.S. energy independence, and co-founded Code Blue Water Security Solutions to advance community resilience.

With over 15 years of experience, Alex has led national campaigns on energy transition, veterans’ affairs, and climate diplomacy. He has coordinated policy fellowships, trained state lawmakers, and represented America in State Department delegations to Indonesia, Malaysia, and Australia. His leadership has reached the United Nations and 45 U.S. states, amplifying the role of public officials and veterans in shaping bold climate action.
