The discussion panel “Adaptation of Ukrainian legislation to EU legislation in the field of international protection” was organized jointly by the Department of International Law of the Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Ukraine, and the State Migration Service of Ukraine.

The discussion panel is dedicated to addressing topical issues of approximation Ukrainian legislation to the EU legal acts that make up the New Pact on Migration and Asylum 2024. In particular, the following issues will be discussed: assessment of the compliance of Ukrainian legislation with EU legislation in the field of international protection, development of a draft new Migration Policy Strategy of Ukraine, and development of a draft Law of Ukraine “On International Protection.”
The panel speakers are high-ranking officials from United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Ukraine, the State Migration Service of Ukraine, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, and Ukrainian and foreign academics.
