Annemarie Sancar

For ten years she was gender focal point for Swiss Cooperation and Development of the Foreign Ministry, where she started a long term initiative for gender-responsive budgeting, she also promoted gender aspects in the sector of the local economy, entrepreneurship and credit systems.
She figured as an expert on gender and peace for Swisspeace (Swiss Foundation for Peace), she was mandated to monitor the Swiss National Action Plan on 1325 and participated in many discussions and panels on Women, Peace and Security.
She takes part in the Civic Solidarity Platform/CSP of OSCE since Switzerland had the presidency and she co-launched the gender group.
She is a board member of WIDE-Women in Development Europe Switzerland, a discussion platform of women experts in care work, political economy, social security systems and gender-based discrimination.
