“Ensuring the quality of higher legal education in the context of European integration requirements”
Participants: Representatives of Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University and the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance.
BLOCK 1. Strategic guidelines, standards, and challenges of wartime.
- Implementation of European Standards and Guidelines (ESG) in Ukrainian legal education: roadmap and role of NAQA. (Harmonization of national requirements with the criteria of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA), challenges of adapting standards to the specifics of legal training).
- Ensuring the sustainability and quality of higher legal education in wartime: anti-crisis mechanisms and flexibility of accreditation. (Adaptation of accreditation procedures to extreme conditions, support for the continuity of the educational process, experience of higher education institutions in conditions of security risks (in particular, the experience of Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University).
- Building an effective internal quality assurance system in law schools: from formal procedures to an effective culture of quality. (University autonomy and responsibility, best practices in quality monitoring, the role of internal stakeholders in the development of educational programs).
BLOCK 2. Modernization of educational content and tools.
- Transformation of legal education content: integration of EU law and response to the challenges of post-war reconstruction. (Updating educational programs, developing competencies for working in the European legal field, training lawyers in the areas of international humanitarian law and legal mechanisms for the reconstruction of Ukraine).
- Digital transformation of legal education and its impact on quality. (Quality of distance and blended learning, introduction of innovative technologies (Legal Tech) into the educational process, methodology for objective assessment of learning outcomes in an online environment).
- Academic integrity as the foundation of European legal culture: new challenges in the era of artificial intelligence. (Institutional mechanisms for combating plagiarism, shaping ethical standards for future lawyers, policies on the use of AI in teaching and research).
BLOCK 3. Interaction, internationalization, and practice.
- Student-centered approach: real mechanisms for involving applicants in ensuring the quality of education. (The role of students in accreditation processes and the review of educational programs, the effectiveness of feedback systems in blended learning environments).
- Interaction with the labor market: ensuring the practical orientation of legal education in accordance with European professional standards. (Involvement of employers in the development and evaluation of programs, effectiveness of legal clinics, internships, and soft skills development).
- Internationalization as a tool for improving quality and integration into the EHEA in conditions of limited mobility. (Virtual academic mobility, joint educational programs with European universities, prospects for the recognition of Ukrainian legal qualifications in the EU).
