“Standards of good administration: European approaches and implementation in Ukraine”

The format is mixed.

Organizers: Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University, Faculty of Law of Zaporizhzhia National University.

Partners: The European Union Project “Continuation of Support to the Comprehensive Public Administration Reform in Ukraine (EU4PAR)”, Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, Ministry of Economy of Ukraine.

 

The main idea of the event is to discuss doctrinal approaches to understanding the standards of good administration generally accepted by the European community and the ways and state of implementation of the Law of Ukraine “On Administrative Procedure” in the national legal framework.

The concept of the event is aimed at a scientific discussion around the idea of good administration and coordination of positions on the need to bring legislation in line with European standards, which is a condition for Ukraine’s European integration movement.

The purpose of the event is to form a scientific basis for the reforms taking place in the field of public administration. The exchange of views between scientists, politicians and officials will also contribute to the development of further scientific research, improvement of law school curricula, and activation of public and local government officials in the reform process.

The speakers of the event will include Judge of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Latvia Jautrīte Briede, Head of the Good Governance, Digital Transformation and Innovation Unit of the European Union Advisory Mission for Civilian Security Sector Reform in Ukraine Konrad Woodtke, MP Larysa Bilozir, Deputy Minister of Justice of Ukraine Oleksandr Banchuk, Judge of the Administrative Court of Cassation of the Supreme Court Volodymyr Bevzenko, Ukrainian and German scholars.

The target audience of the panel discussion is academics, politicians, civil servants, judges, lawyers, and students.
