A working member of CRIMHUM – Modernisation of Master Programmes in Belarus&Ukraine – Erasmus+. Program Coordinator of the Kharkiv International Legal Forum.
Olena specializes in criminal law epistemological issues and methodology of criminal law science, gender equality, gender-based violence, criminal law historiography. She is an author of over 100 scientific works, including monographs «Criminal legal views of O. F. Kistiakivskyi: scientific heritage and its importance for contemporary criminal legal studies» (2010), «Modern Criminal Legal System in Ukraine: Realities and Prospects» (2015), «Legal and Socio-Economics Changes in New Zealand» (2019), scientific practical guide «Key Principles of Gender Policy in Criminal Law of Ukraine and Main Directions of Reforms on Combating Violence against Women and Domestic Violence» (2018).
Olena is a member of international research group at Faculty of Law and Administration of the Adam Mickiewich University in Poznan (2018/2019); a compiler-editor of selected works and bibliographies of famous Ukrainian lawyers; a co-author of the “Great Ukrainian Legal Encyclopedia” (2016); a participant and event manager of international and national academic conferences; a skilled legislative drafter with proven record of legislative research and drafting in the Ukrainian Parliament; a member of analytic groups for making the legal opinions on requests of relevant authorities.
Olena has an extensive experience in developing, implementing and teaching of university courses “Criminal Law Issues in the ECHR Practice”, “Main Trends of Modern Criminal Law”, “Gender Studies for Future Lawyers”, “Theory and Practice of Criminal Normative Qualification”, “The Defining of Corruption and Corruption-related crimes”, “The General Part of Criminal Law”, “The Special Part of Criminal Law”.
Among Olena’s current projects are the gender expertise of the Central Election Commission’s electronic workflow system, a series of trainings on the gender component of the constitutional complaint within the OSCE project “Access to Constitutional Justice”, training course “Gender Equality and Women’s Rights” within the project of the “Association of Women’s Lawyers of Ukraine “JurFem” and National Bar Association of Ukraine, Joint Certificate Program “Practical Course on the Rule of Law” of Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University and the University of South Carolina, USA.
