Yana Sokolova

Yana Sokolova is a senior professor of the Department of prosecutors preparation on supervision of law abidance by bodies that conduct investigative and search activities, interrogation and pre-trial investigation of National Academy of the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Ukraine, where she works since 2007. After graduation from National Law Academy of Yaroslav Mydryi in 1997 she worked there as a professor in the Department of criminology. She received PhD in Law, received scientific degree of Candidate of Sciences and the associate professor (docent).

She has experience in the examination of draft laws on improvement of norms and institutions of the criminal procedural legislation of Ukraine, laws on preventing corruption and so on.

She is the author of over 90 scientific publications, most of which are devoted to the problems of pre-trial investigation on kidnapping, human, trafficking across the state border of Ukraine, crimes against national security of Ukraine, as well as the specifics of individual investigators (search) operations. She is a co-author of a number of methodological recommendations and scientific guidelines special for prosecutors who carry out procedural administration of pre-trial investigation.
