Nadiya Stefaniv

Nadiya Stefaniv is a judge of the Court of Appeal of Ivano-Frankivsk region. She became one of the winners of the competition for the formation of a new Supreme Court of Ukraine and should enter to the Cassation Criminal Court which will be part of the Supreme Court of Ukraine.

Mrs. Stefaniv has extensive experience in teaching and methodological work at the National School of Judges of Ukraine. She is a trainer in the field of application of criminal and criminal procedural legislation, co-author and developer of training courses for judges “Evidence in the Criminal Procedure”, “Anticorruption Law”, “Writing Judicial Decisions in criminal and civil proceedings”, “Peculiarities of consideration of cases related to domestic violence”, “Countering Discrimination”, co-author of educational and methodological training manual for writing judgments, which issued in 2016 with the support of the OSCE.

Judge Stefaniv is a participant of a wide range of international training courses and programs, including the International Education Course “Rule of Law, Democracy and Human Rights” (Netherlands), the 5th International Higher Human Rights Program organized by the Helsinki Human Rights Foundation (Poland), Educational program for teachers “Women’s Access to Justice” (Georgia) and others.

In September 2014, judge Stefaniv was elected by the US National Women’s Judicial Association for the international scholarship (Robert M. Kauffman Scholarship) to attend the 36th Annual Conference of the National Association of Women-Judges. October 15-19, 2014 Mrs. Stefaniv participated as an international judge at the conference, held in San Diego, USA. Judge Stefaniv is a member of the International Association of Women Judges, and in May 2016 participated in the 25th Anniversary International Conference in Washington where she represented the delegation of female judges of Ukraine.
