Magnus Ohman
Dr. Magnus Ohman has been involved to the financing of political parties issues since the late 1990s, focusing on the effective disclosure of information, public funding and rational solutions. His research in this area includes both an analysis of the situation in specific countries and the study of trends and practices for regulating political financing at the macro level.
Dr. Ohman was the lead author of the BRIDGE module on political funding. It provides practical assistance to legislators, civil society organizations and international programs, media and political parties. Now Dr. Ohman is a Senior Political Finance Adviser for the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES). Earlier he has been involved to the implementation of political funding initiatives in 30 countries; His book on political financing has been translated into 15 languages. In addition to the IFES, Dr. Ohman cooperates with international organizations such as the United Nations Development Program, OSCE, the International Electoral System Support Service and the Carter Center.
