Bjarne Melkevik

Emeritus Professor, University of Laval (Quebec). Professor Melkevik is well known prominent specialist in the field of philosophy and theory of law, legal methodology, comparative law and legal reasoning. He reads the following lecture courses: “Philosophy of Law”, “Legal logic and reasoning”, “Legal epistemology” and others.

Prof. Melkevik received his PhD degree at the University of Oslo (Norway) and degree of Doctor of Legal Sciences at the University of law, social and economic sciences (Paris, France). He was a visiting professor at the University of Toulon (2010), University of Bogota (2011), University of Montpellier (2013), University of Toulouse (2015), University of Lyon (2015).

From 2005 Bjarne Melkevik is Chief editor of the book collection «Inter-Sophia» published by the University of Laval; from 2000 he is co-editor of the book collection DIKÉ.

Prof. Melkevik is the author of more than two hundred works published in French, Spanish and Russian. Some his articles were translated into Ukrainian and published in “Philosophy of Law and General Theory of Law”:
