Olena Uvarova

Ph.D. in Law. Since 2009 lecturer of the theory of law department of the Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University. Author of more than 70 scientific papers on the theory of law, human rights, anti-discrimination policies, access to justice and so on. Since 2014 a member of the editorial board of the journal “Philosophy of Law and General Theory of Law” (EBSCO Publishing).
Since 2003 is an active participant of activities to increase awareness of the legal practicians on human rights standards. Among the completed projects – “Promoting human rights and gender equality in Ukraine through the implementation of international legal instruments”, “Monitoring of court decisions regarding gender discrimination, focusing on the application of Ukrainian legislation and international laws”, “Tolerance in post-conflict societies” and so on. Acted as an expert at the invitation of the Working Group on Human Rights Constitutional Commission in the discussion of Section II of “Human Rights” of the Constitution of Ukraine anti-discrimination rules. Since 2015 Ms. Olena Uvarova is the national consultant of the CoE and EU Project “Improving Women’s Access to Justice in the Six Eastern Partnership Countries” (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova, and Ukraine). Since 2017 she is the member of the CSP Working Group on Women and Gender Realities in the OSCE Region.
