Mariam Jajanidze

As a lawyer with expertise in international law, Mariam started her work at the Secretariat of Government Administration of Georgia. in 2014. Mariam’s working areas include criminal justice, right to fair trial, prosecutor’s office, protection of human rights in penitentiary system, elimination of torture and ill-treatment, gender equality, rights of persons with disabilities, anti-discrimination issues and business and human rights.
From 2018 she also serves as a secretary to the newly established Inter-Agency Commission on Gender equality, Violence against Women and Domestic violence. Mariam was actively involved in the development of the baseline assessment on Business and Human Rights in Georgia as a representative of Human Rights Secretariat in 2017. She has 10 years working experience in the field of human rights which includes among others, working for the Public Defender Office and the UNDP.
